Hi Brian,
feeling a bit confused with the new site...
just wondering:
-seeing the people on line (members, visitors) was an
important feature, as many of the users are posting
while others are resting, and vice versa. Is there a
way to see who's actually on line?
At the bottom of the main forum index it shows who is online within the last few minutes, just like before.
-will you import all of the material from the Downloads
area back on the new site ?
Probably not all of it. What do you miss?
Congratulations for all this work anyway, i only wish
the background color to be less flashy...my
poor eyes !...
Thanks. What do you mean about the background being flashy? I find it to be fairly subtle.
Regards.

Understood. I've got a lot of plates in the air right now but I'll try to restore the tab. In any event, I can probably zip up all the old tab files and make them available somewhere.

Brian,
Is the global thread subscription option no longer available (auto-subscribing to every thread you create/reply to)? It looks like you now need to subscribe to individual threads in the "Subscription Options" at the bottom of the thread's page?

Do you mean there was a way to subscribe to a thread at the same time you created it? (Another thing I never noticed!)

There was a way to set up your account so that you were automatically subscribed to any thread you either created or posted in. That way you never had to take any action to subscribe to a thread. Simply posting enabled the subscription.

Also, is there no way to delete a post prior to somebody posting after?

How do I copy & paste text without having to reformat it? For example, Top 5 Things I Like About SG101
1. Free beer
2. Porn
3. Fellatio
4. Tacos
5. Road trips

Okay, I didn't know that. I can add that to the to-do list.

No. This is the same behavior as before, IIRC.

This issue was noted by BTD in this thread.
The short answer is put 2 spaces after a line. Or wait until I fix it to make it behave like before.
BTW, none of those things are available on SG101, to my knowledge. I'd sure like to know about if they were.

Ok, the site is now auto-linkifying plain old links, like it used to.
Next I'll try to work on that paragraph/line break thing.

Thanks Brian! Though hopefully it won't be too much of a headache. It's not that big of a deal. I was just wonderin'

I'm probably just not seeing this, but is there still an instructional link showing how to imbed a photo in the body of a post?
I tried this, but when clicking on the appropriate post, it says "not found".
http://surfguitar101.com/forums/topic/3611/
I don't post photos a lot, but when I do, I sometimes forget the procedure and used to always be able to go back to the "how to" instructions that were here - maybe they still are and I'm just not finding themn?

Hi Rob. That link is for the old software and is OBE.
I do show how to do this at the very end of the calendar screencast posted in this thread.
But really it can't be any easier: just click the little "picture" icon in the tool bar above where you type to enter posts. Enter the URL to your photo. You can click the green checkmark to preview the post.
Hope that helps.
When I get some time, maybe this weekend, I'll do another screencast just about the new markup and editor box.
