They're doing a pretty big disservice to the Shadows and a bigger one to Motorhead with that description.

That was excessively violent and completely unnecessary. I loved it.

Well, I can't speak for the other countries, but many of the acts listed under the UK are in no way surf bands.

And Scotland is part of the UK!!

Los Fantasticos

Sorry for that Django, this list must surely be edited.
I noticed most of the bands were only related to surf / playing surf in a way or another.

I only wish there had been that many! Most people in the country look at you with incomprehension when you mention surf music.

Los Fantasticos

Number9 do you run the Instromania site? You so happen to be from France, and Instromania was put up by someone in France too. It's a long shot, but I thought I'd ask anyway!

Too bad, i am not running Instromania that used to be a top notch instro site.
http://www.instromania.net/D2/index.php
Most of the euro bands listed come from the website, dispite i tried to clean up some country lists, there are dogs throughout...i know.

I've tried to contact who ever does run Instromania on numerous occasions with no reply. Does anyone know who runs that site?

Although I must confess--there is in fact a Bitch Boys facebook- made aby a fan ?? but don't know who ??

Still i prefer face to face comunication..., beer , BBQ and a cool party

Personally I like facebook. It's a great source for info about bands that I like that I wouldn't get anywhere else.Geographically speaking it's impossible to speak to everyone you know face to face as bitchboysi has pointed out. I also noticed your here communicating through a chat board! Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

This is probably nearer the UK surf list past & present - excluding Shadows wannabes and vocal bands. Even then most tend to be everything BUT authentic surf sound.

_**ha ha Badge of Honor ha ha - I like that term.. well in a way I find it exactly that way... however I don't mind people using it-... and you're right- for overseas comunication it's nice- but what's wrong with this forum, mails, myspace...? I see and hear about people "having a coffee on facebook"- I see children, which aren't able to look in your eyes when talking to you, becuase they're not familiar with face-to-face comunication any more... and i findy it scarry...

anyway- we're off topic more and more- so maybe we can continue by pm if you like,..

bye**_

Crumble, not being nit picky, but:
I sent yer list to a English friend of mine, and he said good list,
but
You missed a few good ones, the Dakotas were probably the closest to authentic surf (Cruel Sea), there are some more I am missing, but my head hurts right now. The surfin gorrillas were more swedish than english, but I would include them, the guitarist was called Clive (can't be many Swedes called Clive!!). Preston Pfanz is/are Scottish, but you did say UK, so I suppose we will let them in!:

The Dakotas
The flames
The Ghostriders
Thw Nukes
The Surfin' Lungs
