If you don't know Duke, he's a local treasure in Boston. Tours with Mary Chapin Carpenter & Peggy Noonan, but every so often does a gig on his own. DAMN.

There are some GREAT Tele players out there! A buddy loaned me one of Scotty Anderson's "instructional" videos. I put it in quotes because I couldn't learn anything from it; Hell, I can't even DREAM of playing like that. Here's a little clip:

Big ups to Brad Paisley in this department. He put out a (mostly) instrumental album called "Play." Even has a surfy tune on it (with massive Nashville production & baritone guitar doublings & stuff).
but on the track "cluster pluck" he is joined by every Tele player he could find & gives them all a name drop shout out. Albert Lee, James Burton, John Jorgenson, Vince Gill, Steve Wariner, & Redd Volkaert. I thought it was cool of him to use his considerable star power to get some of those names in front of a (presumably) wider audience.

Funny you should mention Scotty A.
Scotty's from Cincinnati and believe it or not I've jammed with him at parties a couple of times...We played our stuff and he added the sweetest fills and accents you can only imagine. We're all like ...huh???
It's like he knows the song even though he doesn't.
He's the most down to earth guy you'll ever meet and loves to play.
I 'd like to do more surf stuff with him next time...he'd be all over it as well.
