The reality is that I love both brands. I just cannot see myself paying the current prices for mosrites when there is another brand out there that are essentially the same quality for much less.(I am not factoring in the excellent models and such which, just like Hallmark, are simply immitations and, from what I have seen, usually eat you up in shipping in the end.)

Cool. You might want to factor in E.F. Elliot guitars too, no idea on prices, but they make fantastic pickups. (He also worked with Semi, and has Mosrite tone nailed.)

Surferbill, I am considering ordering one of these 59 Customs tomorrow with the Shade tremolo. However, I am curious as to something. The 60 Custom actually has a string guide in conjunction with the zero fret. I noticed that the 59 does not. Have you had any issues with buzzing or strings moving out of place? I am a heavy picker and would hate for this to be an issue. I wanted a 60 but Hallmark are out of stock for a while and he offered me a great deal on a 59 instead.

Ok...the deal went through. The deal was actually a 59 Custom for the price of a 60 Custom, as he is out of the 60s for a while. The only difference is that it will have the standard Shade Tremolo and roller bridge instead of the sandcast one and stringmute. This isn't an issue, as I would prefer the roller bridge. I am quite excited, as I have been eyeing these for almost two years. Thurday cannot get here soon enough.

This was a null issue anyway. As of the next shipment of 60 Customs, Bob said they are no longer going to do the regualar sting guide and that they will all incorporate the fretwire string guide.

Hey Surfer Bill, did you go for the 59, or hold out for the 60 ? I have not had any issues with buzzing on my 60 and the set up was perfect. Just tell Bob how you want it.
