Great Surfing Documentary "Riding Giants" I ran across on UTUBE. Runs about an hour and forty minutes so grab a snack. A little history lesson and some <u>SERIOUS</u> big wave surfing here kidies !

no worries Steve,
just fillin ya in on the scoop.
that film, and Step into Liquid were 2 pretty main stream surf docs that came out in the early 2000's

we were hoping it would help with the surf music scene.
but they used a tiny bit of real surf music in them.

Greg Noll has some great commentary in Riding Giants. The restored super 8 footage of him riding Wiamea in the early 60's is second to none. He is the real deal.

About 2 years ago I'm standing just outside Java Point having a cup of coffee. I'm wearing a Greg Noll Surfboards shirt. I hear a voice behind me say "nice T shirt man!" I turn around and it the surfing God himself, Greg Freaking Noll! I said "Hi Mr. Noll" and shook his hand. "I'm just Greg" he replied. We had a great chat. Downtown Huntington is amazing.

I saw this film in the theater and bought the DVD. Now its free on the web.

I had a Greg Noll, Duke Kahanamoku Hawaiian Nollrider that I sold to a local collector a few years back. I thought I was getting huuuuge money for it at the time......now its worth 4 times what I sold it for.
