Brian and 25 or so of Jeffs' friends have been busy behind the scenes, or his back at least to send a gift to him. UPS delivered a big package for him today. Go to Classifieds/ Sale or trade and look at the Fender P bass by Richard.
It seems Brian and cohorts all knew Jeff doesn't do Facebook and have been planning this for a while. He was a Happy Camper today for sure.
I'm Jeffs' DAD and don't know if anyone knew about this, but it will let you all know how much he appreciates all of those who chipped in to make this happen. I know how much time he puts into SG 101 and to make it all worth it for all of you and Brian, who stepped up to show Jeff the same thing.

Jeff left to go to Costco, then to Don the Beachcombers' for the regular Monday night thing he does every week. I'm sure when he gets home, he'll chime in with some thanks to all who made this happen for him.

Thanks to all involved in this,
and thanks to everybody for the kind words.
This bass will surely be played quite a bit.
and it will be making an appearance in August at the SG101 Convention.

That is a beautiful bass. The definitive answer to now and all future "what is the best bass for surf?" posts: JEFF'S!
I'm proud to be on a forum with such good people. Congrats Jeff, and to all of you that made this happen.

and here is a Pic of the bass from that thread.
the more I think about it, I am still in shock that my friends would do this for me, and am so grateful.
thanks again, over and over.

Also, very wise of you not to have Facebook! Great minds think alike.

It's really not that bad; once you've befriended everyone here on facebook, it's like a really autonomous version of SG101, where you start learning more about each member's distinct personalities than you usually would in a public forum. (If anything, it actually compliments this forum well.) I think it would be a blast if you and Jeff were on it!

Becoming a Borg sounds awful! I had a facebook profile once, and a myspace. Social Networking is not for me.

Ha!
When you really look at it, Forums are actually more social. Social networking is just looking at every facet of a person's life without much socializing. In forums, you actually have conversations with people. Tuck, I do not know your A/S/L, but do I really need to know?
