DISCLAIMER: Yes I know this song is not/not surf! However, we are, and consider ourselves to be first and foremost a "First Wave Surf and Instrumental Rock-n-Roll Band"
Merry Christmas to my fellow SG101'ers
Submitted for your consideration, my garage bands first music video. Although we are a Surf Band, I convinced the guy's to cover this vocal number by the band Tullycraft. My idea was a "tongue in cheek" take on the early '60's Beach movies - wanting to capture as much of the fun, innocence, retro, and yes corniness - as best we could. No overt "rump-shaking" or any of the modern useage of girls in bikinis - not that there's anything wrong with that!
The video only cost us a few hundred quid - food and drinks for the cast and crew, and a bottle of single malt for the editor!!!
The song is not in our set list - we play "traditional" surf of the instrumental style, but may have to add it in the future.
Anyway, it's cold and snowy here in the UK, but not in the video!

Happy New Year to all!

That made my day, probably because there is still snow on the ground here in ATL.
Nicely done!

Just what I needed after digging out from 4 feet of snow, going to work and getting asked what took me so long to get in, white-knuckled driving home on sheet-of-ice roads and then walking in to have my wife complain that she's going stir crazy sitting around the house with nothing to do.
This was a lot of fun. Thanks.

Thanks for the comments folks - really appreciate them!
The video was a gamble of sort's - while it was a perfect song for the video concept, it gives a false impression of what we actually play and are about. Just last night we met to discuss the possibility of adding the song to our set list and our lead guitarist was adamant about not singing it in public - hates his voice. The problem is, all our voices..."suffer!" It was the non-vocal aspect of instrumental Surf that enticed them to take a chance and join my fledgling band in the first place!
Oh, and for the record, we - "The SurfRiders" - based in the UK, have only one video posted on YouTube. The other band named "THE SURFRIDERS" appears to be Latin(?)...though I'm not sure. However, we hope to have a few of our instrumental Surf numbers on-line shortly.
Again, thanks for all the positive comments! The band and I wish you all a Happy New Years!

Shared this video with a lot of friends. I thought the vocals were just fine. I'd be interested in knowing more about the production of the video.
