The Beloved Invaders playing at Zio Romolo's in Denver. A courtly fan notices the wet sound and tries to cover the guitar* with a coat.
Spudnik or Surf Rider
Please don't try this in California; you need guitarists who are used to coats.
======
* Sorry, no saxophone. If you were going to hang a coat on anything, a saxophone would seem more natural.

That was a coat? Being in Colorado I thought it was a pair of long underwear flyin' up on stage. Good thing Wayne Newton was there to help. Great save though. Cool sound.
— What day is Surf Rock's birthday? Looks like Surf Rock and I was born the same year. Maybe we are both Libras?

Well, it's really more of a jacket or "lady's light wrap." Nobody is wearing parkas at the moment as we seem to have received a shipment of California's weather by mistake. The rain was backordered, of course

The Torquays used to play with their red coats in the 90s.
but they would be quite sweaty after playing.
especially at the Doll Hut when it was packed.

Nice Vids - thanks for the post, Tuck! All of the others from the same night in kootTube's feed are also pretty skippy; Diamond Head, Scooter Girl, Apache, Moto San / Mr. Moto including audience participation!

Thanks, I'm hoping they'll approve some others, too. Bob will never let me post anything by Slacktone, though, because "Dave Wronski mumble mumble ... better."* The sound is nothing like what you hear live, but maybe good enough to promote a nice band not many people get a chance to hear. (And there are a lot of those, all over the world, aren't there?)
I like to include crowd interaction, if it doesn't go on too long. The lady who offers them a drink is the one who tossed the wrap at them. I had looked away, so I'm not actually sure how she came to do that. I think she just tossed it grandly over her shoulder without thinking. She was having a good evening. I'm sorry I missed her apologetic smile in the video.
You know, I would have loved to listen to the Torquays sweat. Damn.

- I believe I once heard Dave Wronski screw up and even that sounded really good, so I know what he means. Still ... Well, there should be a Slacktone Festschrift some day, called, "Dave, it's a work in progress, ok?" I nominate the Invaders for Daytona Mona.
