Couldn't find the original post I wanted to attach this, too, so a separate thread.

Tomorrow Men Claire de Lune (See cut 12)

The oldest or one of the oldest musical recordings (from 1860) - Au Claire de Lune.

The question of how music can be recorded or notated is one that interests me. Notational schemes go way back - 3 or 4 thousand years apparently. Modern musical notation dates to the 1600s, but has roots several centuries earlier. I think this is the first actual recording scheme.
