JakeDobner Joined: Feb 26, 2006 Posts: 12159 Seattle	Posted on Dec 30 2006 09:19 PM I was browsing the site and I realized that if my band were to submit our album(s) to Phil to get reviewed we would be right after the Ventures. That couldn't be bad for business could it? Anyways, we don't plan on submitting for a while. Our EP is too low quality for Phil's taste and our studio album is mastered, and sounds amazing, but we don't want to give out too many copies. I think Ivan has pretty much the only copy out there. We are going to try and distance ourselves from the surf labels and such. We want to get our album put out on a non-surf label because we want to bring the genre to other people. The big question was label versus putting it out ourselves. I really wanted to do it ourselves just to get the album out. But then I realized a label can do a lot more for us in terms of promotion and getting us shows. Also, it would feel really good to get on a label. And they could help finance out next album. Top
