Hi,
just unpacked my new little practice amp, the frontman 25R. I use a Squier strat (white of course) and after playing with both Peavey Envoy and a Marshall I must say what a wonderful, typical Fender Sound this amp gave me!
Very impressing. Also a very powerful reverb, even if I prefer my DIGIVERB pedal.
Have seen some comments on other forums about changing the speaker, but so far as a bedroom player I can see no need for that yet. I have enough sound from the 25w piece as I can demand.
Any other of you 101´ers who have any experience from this amp? As it is a rather unexpensive Fender amp it should be of interest for a lot of us wanting the right stuff on a budget.
Cheers.

I liked mine when I had it, but after getting a full-sized Fender tube amp I didn't see the point in it anymore. Of course, like you said, the 25R is a lot cheaper. When I got mine someone had put a different Jensen speaker in it, but having never played it with the original, I couldn't tell you what difference it makes. As far as small practice amps go, I think this is the best one for the money.

I've had one on loan for a long time now (sorry, Jamie) and it's amazing how good it sounds and loud it gets.

hey rustan!! i have one that's about 2 years old. great bang for the buck, good overall quality. i use a digiverb pedal myself, so the stock reverb is ok but the digitech is much better. also use a digitech green monkey overdrive and a digitech delay with it. the rig works well for most everything but metal and is great at home for practice.
the champion 600 (got that one also) is a great little amp but you got to have 'verb and other pedals to make it a little more flexible. and it looks so cool!
you might want to add a jensen or an eminence speaker later if you want to crank it in the house, either one will bring out much more tone and volume than the stock speaker.
but for playing at home, you got a good amp, i have no real complaints about mine! enjoy!!

Anybody ever gig with this amp? I wonder if it might be able to keep up with drums (in small bar room type gigs, of course).

Hi Rustan,
I used one for over a decade and only had 1 problem,
I loaned it to a pal and he won't give it back.
Not a "end all" amp but pretty good bang for the buck(Krona)
Cheers.
