I've heard the awesomely underrated Planet Seven on Gene Simmons Family Jewels,and on at least 15 of other shows I can't remember right now.It stills frustrates me to this day that this band isn't still around. —Reverb, It's A Way Of Life! |

Fox Sports played part of a surf version of "take me out to the ballgame" going to commercial on last Saturday's Giants v Reds game. I'm thinking it was probably Pollo Del Mar? Nice! |

Hmmmm, this is a pretty unexpected place to hear surf... surprised me anyway. It's actually my own recording of "Hava Nagila" from a YouTube vid, that was on the "Holy Atheist" podcast #3 and #4: http://www.theholyatheist.com/podcast/ep-4-circumcision-intervention This is by a guy named Stevie Ray Fromstein; he's been a stand up comic for years, a screenwriter for shows like "Roseanne", and has appeared on talk shows with his views on (er, against) organized religion. Maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but pretty cool that he used it! — |

i first discovered los straitjackets because they were being played in a local taco shop, and by taco shop i dont mean taco bell i mean a san diego taco shop with real mexican food owned by real mexicans. i asked the guy at the counter what they were listening to in the kitchen and he brought out the cd case to show me, this was back in like 96 or 97 —http://dinosaurghost.bandcamp.com/ |
