I'm interested in how to bias my echoplex, please post a link when it's done.

Cheers

Don't play any other tape delay units and then claim, as fact and without reason, that the Echoplex is the best tape delay unit EVER made.

Hey Danny, I just posted a tutorial with audio and photos on how to bias an Echoplex yesterday here.

http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/electroechochamber/

It's very simple and easy to do.

"I recommend this procedure be done every time you change out a new tape. It's not like the years of old where you can just head over to your music store and get a brand new stock Echoplex cartridge. Tape formulations are ever changing, NOS tape changes it's chemical makeup as it deteriorates over the years, and vendors can swap out the stuff so that you never know what you're getting these days."

If anyone is interested in an Echoplex EP3 that needs some resurection, I have one that I took out of 20 year storage listed on ebay.

Looks like you're going to get a fair price for it? I picked up another one recently that was in about the same condition but the motor was confirmed in working order for a little over $100.

ECHOPLEX EP-3 maestro tape echo delay vintage SR#9652

The buyer on this Echoplex couple weeks ago failed to carry thru
with the transaction, so it has been relisted. I still don't have the
time or ambition to restore it.

Hi guys, this is Brook from Surf Zombies. I have an Echoplex and am interested in selling it. How do we identify if it is EP 1, EP 2 or EP 3? Thank you!
