As high energy as this is, the Ramones really took off in speed in the 80s and on...I love listening to live performances of those years...makes you wanna wreck everything! —http://reverbnation.com/Bodysnatchers |

I once worked with an English teacher who was a massive Ramones fan. He'd documented the playing time of Blitzgrieg Bop since they'd started and showed me a graph showing how much quicker it had got over the years. Like you say - they sped up up in the 80's and 90's. A lot of bands slow down as they got older. Not the Ramones! — |

There's a cover, and then there's a RAMONES cover! — |

I always thought they butchered that song! They should have never put out more than 3 albums anyway. My old band played with the Ramones a couple of times in the mid 80's and it was a far cry from CBGB's in 1976! —https://www.facebook.com/coffindagger |

I can hang with them up through the fifth, but there's a pretty huge dropoff after Rocket to Russia. —That was excessively violent and completely unnecessary. I loved it. |

There is no doubt, to me, that Rocket to Russia was their crowning achievement as a cohesive album. However, they never put out an album that I was unable to find something to enjoy on. To this day, I absolutely love Bonzo Goes to Blitzberg from the Animal Boy record, but that record was terrible overall. Actually, I would say that it is my fav. Ramones song ever recorded. I will go even further by saying that their final studio album was one of the best works they had done in over a decade. I realize that I am in a severe minority on that. —THE KBK ... Too Tough To Die was the album I lost 'em at. I was amazed to see how long they lasted & how many albums they eventually released. —Radio Free Bakersfield--60 Minutes of TWANG, CRUNCH, OOMPH. |

In general theory no punk band should last longer than a few years anyway. Most bands only have an album and maybe a couple of 7"s in them before they turn to crap. —https://www.facebook.com/coffindagger |

I'm a diehard Ramones fan till the bitter end. Bought every album and saw them at least 2 dozen times or more. Lost count. Long live The Ramones!!! Every damn bit of them. Their version of Surfin' Bird is one of the reasons why I like surf music today. —BOSS FINK "R.P.M." available now from DOUBLE CROWN RECORDS! |

That's the attitude Norm, long live the Ramones! I usually prefer the first four myself, but there are some real gems after 1980 too, "Psycho Therapy", "Bonzo Goes to Bitburg", "Somebody Put Something in My Drink", "The KKK Took My Baby Away", and many others, all classics. The "Halfway to Sanity" album is a sentimental favorite of mine too, in high school I used to borrow my sister's VW squareback cranking "Weaselface", good times! — |
