Calling Mel Waldorf! This song sounds almost exactly like the Meltones' "Kava Kava" (or vice versa, apparently). The similarities are uncanny! Either it's an amazing coincidence or Mel has some explaining to do. For reference, check the (short) cdbaby clip here. |

Mel's label specializes in syncronization and somebody asked for "Albatross", so they asked Mel to do a song with the same feel. Didn't get picked up, though. I love that album, Surf Spy Space. —Buy Speed of Dark @ Bandcamp |

I had Heard the Albatross was a tribute, to the Shadows version of Sleepwalk. the surf connection being that many surf bands cover the Santo and Johnny version. Jeff(bigtikidude) |
