Klas
Looks like a boss show and it would be interesting to see a set list!
Here's our setlist, Klas! We have three originals so far in the set... Haunt Rod, The Judge, and 5th Horseman. We have more originals, but that's what we were able to get down for the show. Eventually it'll be at least 80% originals.
THE CREEPER (Ventures)
BIKINI DRAG ( Pyramids)
RPM (The Four Speeds)
TRANQUILIZER (Lively Ones)
HAUNT ROD - original
LETS DANCE (Marksmen version)
THE JUDGE - original
5TH HORSEMAN - original
BEACH GIRLS AND THE MONSTER (F. Sinatra Jr.)
SPEEDSHIFT (The Captivations)
BANZAI WASHOUT (everybody!)
ONE POTATO TWO POTATO (Crossfires)

That are some great cover selections but I'm glad to hear that you're planning on adding more originals. Are the 3 current originals vocals or instros?

The three originals we played at the show are instros. We're working on 4 other originals, 2 vocals and 2 instros. The band is gonna be around 50/50, although now it's heavier on the instros. Don't worry, no weak vocals tunes here. Our vocals have a heavy reverb and fuzz vibe like the instros. We're not trying for a 100% vintage sound either. Some of the songs sound pretty pumped, as if MC5 played hot rod music!

The lyrics count!
— That was excessively violent and completely unnecessary. I loved it.

Indeed, Warren. You must be psychic. You are likely to hear the Finksville 5 play this tune! MC5 rule!

very cool,
the camera actually captured that great.
my ears were totally blown out and I couldn't make out any distinction between the guitars when I was up close.
I had to go to the back of the room and put some napkin bits in my ears.
and then everything was muffled.
so that video is really good to see.

Nice! The Ugly Beats are great and feature an ex Sir Fink and a current Thunderchief, if I'm not mistaken.
Bingo,
I forget the guys name,
but I think there was also a guy in Death Valley,
last time they were in town, Dave Arnson and I saw them.
and they played 1 Death Valley song for us.
I bought both of their (Ugly Beats)cds
some good fun garage.
not too heavy or over the top.

depending on what kind of Garage music you can tolerate.

I can listen to almost anything,
but I prefer garage that isn't repetitive,
and sound like a wall of mush.

Tolerate!
HA!!
that's like saying Tolerate all of the surf bands
that wear Hawaiian shirts and play all the standards,
and a ton of Ventures songs,
that aren't really surf,
i.e. walk don't run, lullaby of the leaves, perfidia, etc. etc.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
and I do tolerate them, and see some of them.
just not my cup of tea.
but back to my point.
the Ugly Beats are a up beat, and very Fun Garage band,
and I like them, so I am looking forward to this show.
