it's not possible for me to love that Vanduras album more. I wonder if they'll ever do another one. I definitely need more of that sound in my life!

Does anyone know if they were strictly a studio band, or if they ever did any live performances?

well,

they did one performance that I know of.
it was at a surf shop in Laguna Beach,
and Max and Marc of the Blue Hawaiians played drums and Bass for them.
they did a mix of Half Vanduras songs, and Half Blue Hawaiians songs.

it was ok, but kinda tight in the small shop.
not the most ideal place to play.
and then lots of traffic noise too.
;-/

Gary and his Son are working on a New Vanduras cd.

and for those who don't know.
Gary(the lap steel player)
is also in the Tikiyaki Orchestera, and sat in on some songs for the new Hula Girls cd(rockabilly meets Hawaiian music)

and for those who haven't heard the Vanduras,
do yourself a favor, give a listen.
then buy the cd.

I just listened to it while crusing down PCH from Camario to Santa Monica last sunday.

so beautiful.

When I saw this thread I was hoping that these would be videos of live performances
I'm a big fan as well. They are/were just an incredibly talented band. I never tire of that album.
