Since there's already some discussion about this band in another thread( this one to be exact) I thought I'd post some videos for some folks here that are not already familiar with this band. They're from Cagliari, Italy and they play a mix of Garage, Surf, and Fuzz. I believe they mostly do vocals but they do the Instro thing as well...
Fright!, Cherry Lee, and another one

Yeah I couldn't find it available anywhere. We where discussing that in the Batman thread. I really dig their Instro stuff. The vocal stuff is awesome too...

Yep!! The Hangee's are very cool people... and they speak perfect English. Send them an email through their MySpace page... http://www.myspace.com/thehangeev I'm positive they would be more than happy to sell you one of the records.

Unfortunately, the YouTube videos I've seen doesn't do the band justice and they sound so much better in reality, at least they did on friday night here in Stockholm. The set list consisted of about 1/3 instrumentals including great versions of "Night Of The Vampire" (The Moontrekkers), "Batman" (The 4 Of Us) and "Anesthesia" (The Nation Rockin' Shadows) as well as their own awesome "What Was It?" to name just a few. Definitely one of the best shows I've seen in recent years.

4/5 times I hear a band I really like, they're either from Sweden or your neighbors. Why is that part of the world so intent on making the US look bad? ;)

Haha, you definitely need to improve your geography knowledge! The Hangee V are from Italy which is located in the south of Europe and a long way from Sweden in the north.

Haha... thanks for the lesson... I heard they make great pasta over there.
When you said you saw them in Stockholm, I jumped to my own conclusion. I keep forgetting bands can still do that touring thing if they either do it full time or have generous bosses.

PG, the leader of the band, was one of the biggest surf-sound-men in Italy with his original band the Uninvited. That is why his sound is so cool. At the same time yes, they do mostly vocals in the live shows but they can put together an amazing set of instros and they really know how to play them.
Hangee V are definitely a good band!! And good friends!

Nowadays with the cheap European air fares, it's actually possible for a band to fly out for just a couple of shows on a weekend without losing money. The Hangee V arrived from Italy on friday, played two shows here in Stockholm and then flew home on sunday.

Yeah, it would have been great if they played a full instro set at the Surfer Joe Festival last year. I'm sure they would have blown many of the instro-only bands out of the water!

It's crazy, but Scandinavia is where it's at for surf/instro music at the moment. It's been a goldmine for us, with great music by The Surfites, The Mobsmen and Burt Rocket. We've got another band from the region working on a new Double Crown release, but can't release the details on it quite yet (guesses anyone?)

I contacted Piergiorgino a couple of days ago through YouTube. We can buy copies of Unpleasantly Yours CD/LP directly from him. He sent me his PayPal address if anyone is interested in buying anything from him. This is what he wrote to me...
Ciao Abe, just read the forum, thanx a lot! Surely the album can be order directly from me!
_Price is 16 Euros (around 20 dollars) shipping included for the vinyl version, 12 Euros for the cd.
As you wrote on the forum paypal botton on myspace has a wrong code, we have to remove it.
Thanks again for asking, let me know...
Pigi _
Im not sure if that's $20 total including shipping but still pretty good.

Interesting, Lorenzo where can we hear this band? All I found was this.. _UNINVITED - I turned into a snake 7" For Monsters Records (Garage surf from Italy 90's) _

Best thing is to ask Pg directly. He will be very happy to provide all the info. Don't know what is still available but it's a good try.

I found this...
http://www.nofunrecords.com/old/store/store7s3.htm
It is the one that I remember. See if PG has something more.
The sounds that he gets is excellent, he is a real expert and has good equipment. Plus he knows how to use it.
In Italy we had not many surf bands before year 2000. But definitively there were some names that have done well.
The Crashmen for what I know (but I maybe wrong) are some of the earliest bands proposing surfing stuff, since 1989. Marco the lead guitarist has been in touch with Dick Dale since 1981. He's such a nice guy!
Then you can count i Cosmonauti (great!), Uninvited, The Bradipos IV (oh boy!), Wet-Tones (fabulous), us with the Pipelines (since 1997 but I would not define us a real surf band, we definitely played a lot though), Ray Daytona & Googoobombos and a few more.
Then I started surfer joe on 2002 and at the time I counted 15 surf bands all over the country. But the Uninvited were not existing anymore already.
