My song that randomly evolved into some surf guitar.

Beard - Surfer March

Anyone have any recommendations for surf bands with a latin slant that I can check out?

Beard

Welcome Beard,

That was really well done, quite impressive. However and with all due respect, it's not what most of us would call surf music. We differentiate ourselves from the Jack Johnson style which has recently been also called surf music. Our roots are from the early 60's Dick Dale style reverberated guitar with lots of tremolo picking, distinctive melodies and the surf beat. To get a better idea download our free podcasts and peruse the archives.

Cheers

?conoces Los Twang! Marvels? Gotta be toward the top of a lotta peoples list. They have a couple songs on the podcast but you should just go ahead and buy Jungle of Twang. Welcome.

Eddie Bertrand tells a tale of playing "Corrido Rock" every night at retail clerk's hall and how the crowd would get absolutely wild dancing to it.

Somebody might want to consider reviving this, Surf style.

Oh wow thanks for the Jungle of Twang recommendation. I like what I am hearing. I can only find the songs online in mp3 unless I want to pay import prices for the cd. Anyone know what quality mp3 amazon.com uses? 192?

Beard

Beard, you do know your version of surf is not what we consider to surf right? I just wanna set the record straight! Hmmm

Aw heck the reverb police have moved in.

I didn't realise that this forum was attracting purists .The following for this genre is way to small as it is ,lets not put down a new member.

I think it's a great sound Beard, best of luck with your band.

It's not about putting down a new member, it's about trying to preserve surf music as we know it for future generations.

Love your tone on surfer march.. what gear are you usin?

I wanna play just like him when i grow up...

Just so everyone knows I do think "Surfer March" could be considered a variation of spaghetti surf. I also really like this song!
Beard I'm assuming you've heard of Calexico right? Your music reminds me of them a lot!
