It's time to thin the herd:
I'm offering my year-2000 Danelectro Hodad on the ebay: starting bid just $200.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250683827605&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT
excellent surf guitar, Mosrite body style, Bigsyby style trem, lipstick humbuckers are factory coil-tapped for single coil operation...also in-phase or out-of-phase humbucker...push/pull pickup tap/phase selectors...
no play issues at all, just a bit of case wear, a broken case handle, and a couple of "flea bites" nicks ...and a little pick wear in the clear coat.
I am offering this guitar for USA bidders and shipping...
but, if you are international buyer, shoot me a private message, and we'll see what we can do.
I'd love to see this one go to a surf guitarist...a fine "Made in Korea" Danelectro...very playable, very versatile guitar.

Nice, cool that it came with a hard case. Mine came with the gig bag and a tiny amp.

those original Dano space-age gig bags and micro-amp were kind of cool!
The early Dano tweed hard cases feature vinyl "pleather" and real fake tweed...also authentic rubberized logo and a real nylon imitation leather-look handle! Gotta love Danelectro! Those early Made in Korea Danos are great!

I have tried and tried and tried to "like" Guitar Center...but, truth be told, they absolutely suck.
No good picks, no good strings, all their gear is ridiculously marked-up.
They never seem to have anything I want, or need...
Now Musician's Friend, on the other hand, is quite helpful...and sometimes addictive!
I like the Danelectro Hodad a lot! I highly recommend it...I have another guitar (the Retrotone Surfmaster) with vintage lipstick pickups...
so, as they say, it goes...

^^^ That Purple (Grape?) is nice ! ^^^
Those early re-issue Danelectro colors are something else: especially their "sparkle" finishes...crazy!
Dano had a good thing going with those Hodads from 1998-2001...too bad they couldn't keep it going...They had a full line-up: Hodad 6, Hodad 12, Hodad Bass, Hodad Baritone...
By the way...I'm starting to look around for a Dano Hodad Bass...I really should have picked one up back in the day...they seem about 10x as rare as the Hodad Guitars...and the Hodad Bass always seems to get rave reviews...
