I agree with many of the choices so far, but would also add the Volcanics CD to the list (even though it has some vocals). Unfortunately, I've only reviewed/listened to half of the CD's sent in for review in Continental #14 - if I was done with 'em I'd have a better idea of what the best releases were this year. One that I'm excited about (based on the cover art and track listing) is the new release from the Aquasonics - http://www.myspace.com/theaquasonics. I haven't cracked the plastic wrap yet, but the mySpace selections sound very promising.
