I love this guitar, but I've got another Strat-style guitars that I love and I could use a bit more variety (or cash), so I'm going to see what people offer. I'm looking most for another Hamer, but we'll see.
Anyway, I got this American Special Strat (originally sunburst, my least favorite finish) recently. I loved everything about the American Special Strat except for the finish. I'm not much of a sunburst fan. So, I took the body from my Warmoth (in Apricot Flake finish), kept everything else from the American Special and parted out the rest of the Warmoth.
This is an absolutely fantastic guitar that is nearly spotless. I love the shape and feel of the neck, the tremolo, and the pickups. The previous owner upgraded the tuning machines to Fender/Schaller locking tuners, but all other hardware is original. The Apricot Flake Warmoth body is a beautiful piece of work and depending on lighting can be anything from a Magenta to a deep orange and the flake is fairly chunky and perfectly even. It's a killer guitar.
