18 Gougin' Instrumentals 1958-1965
Great comp in the Strummin' Mental series vein but with even more crude, inept and savage stuff...

From the cover, I'm guessing that's a "wrestling" term. —Site dude - S3 Agent #202 "It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea |

I got my Black Friday order in the mail the other day--the Del-Vamps' album and the Apemen singles comp. Thanks, Sean! And I found these at Tower last night:
The Leathercoated Minds one is 2/3 vocal, but the J.J. Cale instros are pretty cool. -Warren —That was excessively violent and completely unnecessary. I loved it. |

I listened to my "Black Friday" shipment over the weekend... One CD was surprizingly bad. Buy Speed of Dark @ Bandcamp |

Yesterday I got "Surfing the Magma" and a Corsair's CD in the mail from Lava Bill. (Thanks again, Bill.) Because of crappy financial constraints I've had to withhold from buying new CDs for a while, and those were the only two I've gotten since AUGUST. It's been a long hard road going without my fix for so long... Crackheads don't come down this hard. |

I just ordered Galactic Vibrations by The Space Agency. Before that I bought The Dynotones self-titled album from Double Crown. |

Got these in the mail today. All quotes are from Reverb Central reviews.
This is an interesting vault purge, with first time stereo from the Vulcanes, and first time from tape for the Genteels, plus the Piltdown Men, Digger Revell and the Denvermen, and Arthur Lee and the L.A.G.'s, adding up to 14 instros. The other 16 tracks are vocals, most less familiar.
33 tracks from the Capitol vaults, with 11 instros and a bunch of Gary Usher-Brian Wilson vocals. Great liner notes and the only pix I've seen of Richard Podolor, aside from the one where he is in the back seat of the car on the cover of the Super Stocks LP.
Coming from a surf perspective, this is a dismissible release. But for fans of the Hollywood studio scene of the sixties, this will be a valued release. Long and detailed liner notes with insights into the personalities and motivations of the producers and musicians make for an interesting historical read.
This Japanese CD is compiled from the US vaults of MCA. It contains vintage sixties studio sessions and tracks from working bands as well. Rarities and common. Included here are some fine Richie Podolor studio sessions not available elsewhere, as well as other rarities. — |

Very cool, Klas. Those last two look particularly interesting. Recently I've snagged Yuzo Kayama's "Black Sand Beach," the CD reissue of Terauchi Takeshi's "Let's Go Eleki Bushi" and:
