That's Paul's website. I correspond with Paul periodically on some of the rare Brownface Fenders.

I don't prefer either to be honest. I have a pretty good stock of JBL-D130's now. I will probably sell them off at some point.

I used to really like them and had them in a Vibrasonic and Pro. I prefer the Oxford's and Jensen's now. Or even CTS. There are some applications for the JBL's. I have a 3rd Brownface Twin - Amp coming and I'll use Oxfords and Jensen's for this amp as well. JBL's were an upgrade option for this amp.

I can dig.. it's really up to the kind of music and also the volume you play.. I have a pair of Tweed De-luxes and I love the alnico 12's ..

Sorry to drag up an old thread but a new discovery has come to light. I have since bought two more cali 15"'s and they weren't the same as the "winner" in this challenge. I just pulled the speaker out for the first time ever and saw that the cone was different than a cali is supposed to be. I sent pic's to weber asking about it and it turns out I have a Cali basket with a Chicago 15" cone.
So winner is Chicago 15" VS D130F
The cali's are not as cool as the chicago. The calis are harsh and kinda gross. Ok but not as awesome as Chicago.
Sorry for the bad results

Kinda funny, you might have never known.
Anyway, I concur. I have a Chicago 15 that replaced my d130. Sounds good low or loud and even sounds good with distortion. Sweet speaker in a brown Pro.
