"I Fought The Law" turn around chord(s)

OK, I've lost my copy of the Bobby Fuller 4 doing this song - pretty much have the chords from memory, but... does anyone know the quick changes that complete the short chord progression that acts as the intro and is repeated between verses? It starts out as follows I think:

G / / / C / D / G / / / X X X X

Just need the "X" chords

Sounds kinda like D G D G but not sure

I've always played it D G D G, using the barred D (with the "bar" at the 5th fret-variation on the open A chord), then to a barred G, then to open D chord, then back to a barred G. You have to be quick, but I think it sounds better.

Many thanks - D G D G sounds like the right sequence of chords to me and thats what I've been using. For the 1st D I've been using only strings 2-5 and the D formed in the 7th position (like an open G chord moved up 7 frets), then getting the 2nd chord (G) in the same position using the formation of an open C chord moved to the 7th position. I'll try Chad's suggestion. Wonder if Bobby Fuller might have even used some kind of open tuning?? Its a great song, the Ventures also did a version with Duane Eddy sitting in I believe. The "open" tuning you hear in some of the chords is the high notes added to the "A" form of the chords..
Ex. "C" is played on the 4th,3rd,and 2nd strings at the fifth fret with the index finger - allowing the pinky to hit an added "C"- first string, 8th fret. The same fingering applies to "D" (7th fret index, pinky hitting "D" on first string, 10th fret).. If you look at the video from the sixties on Youtube, you can see Bobby fingering the C and D chords this way at points in the song. Hope this helps.

in the video in the other thread you can actually see him play it like this at 0:25 into the song.... well, "see" you can see the positions pf where his hand is. no barre's though, three-string chords I think.
