Thanks Billy. I wonder how Abdul gets that sound, different pickups maybe ? I know he uses a Vox amp. Never played thru a Vox before, all I know from hearing Vox amps is listening to the early Beatles.

There is a stompbox by Tech21 called the Liverpool, which emulates the Vox sound. It's part of the sansAmp line, but can also be used with an amp.

also Abdel
has a delay pedal that emulates the Tape Delays that the Shadows used.
totally different than reverb.

Those guys have nailed that sound. What pedal are they using?.

If you want to get the Hank Marvin sound here is how you can do it with two delay pedals

Strat + Delay A, 400ms 3 repeats + Delay B, 375ms 2 repeats + Clean amp

don't oversaturate the level controls

then just tweak each setting till you find that sweet spot

I am pretty sure Abel is using a Yamaha "Magic Stomp" with the "Shadows patch" obtained from a guy in the UK....it is "spot on" and Abel knows how to use it well!
