Does anyone know if <u>'Velvet Surf' </u>is an original song by 'The Glasgow Tiki Shakers'?
Anyone know the members of the bands names?

Thanks
Joel

28 views and no one knows? wtf?
hummm, where are the rest of the old guys?

Yup, it's an original. You can find "Velvet Surf" on their primo cd "In Venice".
Bill McGlynn guitar
Joyce Seko bass
Bruce Graham drums

Joel, "Velvet Surf" is an original composition by Glasgow Tiki Shaker guitarist, Bill McGlynn. Joyce Seko is their bassist, and Bruce Graham is their drummer. "Velvet Surf" is one of my very favorite songs, ever, and the Tiki Shakers are an incredible, vastly under-rated band. They are among the nicest people in the surf community, as well.

Thanks for answering and providing the answer to my question RobbieReverb and Dave_leDude.
I am amazed at the great amount of sound coming from that little three piece band!
'Velvet Surf' in my books is a Great song! It has a special, hummm, ahhhh, well I guess it would be a FEEL to it!

Joel

I agree, Velvet Surf and the Glasgow Tiki Shakers are amazing.
the Soul Sound that Bill is a Big fan of, really comes thru on that song.

Welcome to the forum! There is a ton of great info and resources here.

The Tiki Shakers played all originals for the first time in public at this year's Suzy's Surf Stomp. Look for a forthcoming cd.

Wow! I drop in from the 'old country swing music' secne, and see a 2yr old thread I started up on the list. Welcome to the forum Furbal2k from an old surf music fan. I'm glad my post brought you to this wonderful forum. Some great people here. Yes
