I just know that I keep it switched on.

That's only because I told you your amp would blow up ala the movie Speed, if you ever turned if off.

That's also why I never let my metronome go anywhere below 160 bpm.

~B~

do you have a bright switch on your metronome too!!!

Always -- gotta have it really cut through the mix. Plus, with the bright switch off on the metronome the reverb doesn't drip nearly as much. Twisted Evil

That's actually be really cool from a beat standpoint. A tank wouldn't really cut it, but to have an accented metronome with huge reverb on it...

I have nothing to add. I just wanted to see how many nested quotes we can get away with.

i'd like to know peoples amp settings/bright on or off/pickup selection on their jags, as mine just sound ridiculously thin/jangly with the bright switch on, but i like the sound with my other gits.

ive got a twin clone and a MIJ jag (stock).

I'm going to start writing tickets for excessive quoting... Laughing

Here's a video of a gig where I made the poor choice to put the bright switch on with my Jaguar, you can really hear it as the song goes on:

yeah thats what my jag sounds like, is that with both pickups on?

cos i play in a two piece with a drummer, so i have no bassplayer/rythm gits to hide my tones!

http://www.myspace.com/motherandsonmusic

I'm pretty sure it is with both pickups on. I can't imagine a 2 piece surf band, no context for the melodies. However if I were to try, I'd use 2 different amps to get as complex a tone as possible. Which I do with my 4 piece anyway.

ouch!! That was bright!! Not do that! LOl!

we aren't strictly surf, more garage/blues i guess.

i mainly fingerpick and play entirely in open g or gminor, i can cover lead/bass notes at the same time pretty well.

our new album that we are recording right now has a heavy surf influence tho.

i'l make sure a post a link when its done and up on the web - you can check our myspaz below tho.
