My amp, a Genz Benz Black Pearl 30, has a Ruby 3-spring reverb pan. I like the amount of reverb, but was wondering if different brands (Accutronics, or whoever) makes a warmer pan that I could replace the Ruby with? What's the general consensus on the tone differences between Accutronics, Ruby, and Mod?
Also, any insights on changing the reverb send tube? Some have said lowering the gain of that tube to a 12AT7 or 5751 could "warm up" the reverb a bit?
In any event, the pan I have now doesn't really drip. That's OK; while I am a member here & do love surf music, I play it alot less than I listen to it. I'm really more interested in a warmer, richer reverb as opposed to the bright drip of surf. (So, ironically, the pan I'm looking for is probably the one that would be the LEAST popular here! ? )

And for that matter, can somebody tell me WHICH tank is in the Fender '63? I can't find the specifics online anywhere... 3/4/6 springs? Medium or long decay?
Nevermind... found the service manual: 4AB3C1C, 4 springs, long decay.

I recently bought a MOD tank.. and i will say that the build quality is just top notch.. it sounds way better than 3 of my vintage tanks, to my ears the tank seems a bit mellower.. its kind of hard to explain.. good reverb, but i can not get it to drip at all:(

Interesting. I can't get the Ruby in my combo to drip either.
I tried a 5751 in the reverb send to warm it up (lessen the splash) a bit, and that worked pretty well. But it's never dripped, regardless of reverb send tube choice.
