Wow, great tracklist!

Kyle, I renewed my subscription to Pipeline, and in a return email Alan Taylor sent me the link to Amazon to alert me to the CD's imminent release. Alan and I have exchanged many emails through the years and he knows I will love this comp!

Man, I LOVE the first wave surf. This comp has just enough stuff I haven't heard that I'm getting pretty excited about it.
Good eye, Ivan!

thanks for the heads up Ivan.
I wish there was less well known songs on it,
but I understand why they put them there.
if it was all rarities it wouldn't sell as well.
I loved the first one, and the huge booklet it came with.
can't wait to get this one.

<b>Nice comp, tks. for the HU. See is produced by UK based Ace Records, which assume is the same Ace Records that put out the very well done Big Surf Comp in 1991 http://bit.ly/5uXXJ9, basically drawn from the Del-Fi catalog, and later released as Big Surf II on Del-Fi.<b>

I got this CD a couple of days ago, and it is AWESOME!! Some well-worn standards, but surrounded by all sorts of great rarities! I've never before heard The Pagents' Enchanted, nor The Kan Dells' Cloudburst nor The Velvetones' Mister X, all cool tracks (though nothing mindblowing), but the best thing about this comp is having a bunch of obscure-but-great tracks mastered really well and sounding huge! Stuff like The Scarlets' Stampede, The Bel-Aires' Baggies, Jim Messina & The Jesters' The Thing, The Creations' Crash, The Intrepides' Golash, The Vy-Dels' Unknown and The Sandals' Theme From Endless Summer (the original version). All so good.... Even the familiar classics by DD, the Astronauts, the Pyramids, the Surfaris, the Original Surfaris, etc., take on a new life surrounded by these tracks. Great liner notes, too! Ace knocks another one out of the ballpark!
HIGHLY recommended!!!

Looks like a lot of the tracks from Disc 1 of the Cowabunga box set.
Overlap between the Cowabunga Box Set and Birth of Surf, Vol. 2: 3 songs (DD's Surf Beat, The Revels' Church Key and the Sandals' Endless Summer).
Overlap between the Cowabunga Box Set and Birth of Surf, Vol. 1: a lot more (something like a dozen tracks).
