I'm kinda wondering the same thing. Would it be best to stay away from Huntington Beach area because of the Open going on that weekend?

Disneyland!

huntington beach is definitely a place to avoid with the surfing contest going on.

Yeah, there seems to be quite a few places around Cypress or Los Alamitos, I guess because Disneyland isn't too far away. I may end up going that route.

There is a Marriot Hotel pretty close to the starting gate, and a motel down the street (Katella) called the Turf Motel,
there are literally thousands of motels in OC.

I would suggest inland a ways to save some money.

But not too close to Disneyland or Knotts berry farm,
as the price may start to go back up a bit, as you get close to them.

Been working on getting shows before and after the convention weekend for
Space Rangers and Wadadli Riders.
sorry for no updates on the surf jam,
Fender plant tour, and the line up for the Fri. and Sun. show.

I will have all of this info soon,
and post it. so keep an eye out for it.

I'd love to know what people are thinking concerning hotels. It'd be great if we could all stay at either the same place or at least in close vicinity, that way we could carpool. Any thoughts on this?

We don't car pool in Southern California!
One person per car. I think it's the law. Laughing

More of the same in Atlanta, too!!!

One man and his dog per pickup truck here in Brisbane.

On a more serious note I found the Staybridge Suites on Manchester Avenue,
Anaheim ,a good place to stay. Good rooms ,all you can eat breakfast included in tarriff. Walking distance to Disneyland, Garden Walk Center, Bestbuy, and the Block at Orange. Avis and Hertz are a 5min walk.

Yep, avoid HB, Anaheim, and Buena Park...
Stanton too, because motels there are sketchy.

Ayres Inn in Orange is nice.

I have to put in a plug for priceline.com. I have always had great success using the "name your own price" function. Crappy motels in O.C. go for $70 a night-- for that same price I got rooms at the ****Fairmont Resort in Newport Beach for next weekend. Look at the prices for the hotels they offer, pick one you like and then enter a price 50-60% lower.
