Ok then, here they are:
2008 American Std Strat, 1998 CIJ Jag

I really like the red Jag with matching headstock. Nothing "plain Jane" about that! If I ever break down and buy a Fender, it will probably be due to a red Jag.

Thanks Missing Link. I'm admiring T-rey's Jazzmaster prior to your post. Sweet.

This is my 1983 Squier JV which i bought for £90 from ebay. Actually it was £130 but i had the nerve to ask for a price reduction! I had no idea how sought after they were and neither did the seller.
Nice guy, although very religious, he blessed me and alsorts. Well, i was looking for the holy grail of Stratocasters and i think i found it.

Check this JV youtube, go on, HD and full screen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J87J0_ja6xA

Why is this JV Squier so sought after?

Why is this JV Squier so sought after?

They are shockingly nice guitars.

Why is this JV Squier so sought after?

They were the first Fender Japan guitars, there's a bit of a trade war story but basiclly the Japanese wanted show just how good they could produce. It's pretty much a 1962 stratocaster, perfect weight, attention to detail etc.
I've owned a couple of 90s Japanese reissues but they don't seem to come close, i don't know what it is.. Japanese happiness factor or something! The pickups were made in the USA, vintage spec with fibre bobbins and cloth wire.
I never found out if they were original old stock or specially made for the JV. they have the yellow crayon marks like the early p/u's. Mine have purple windings which are said to be a slightly duller sound.
It's an export model, the Japanese made for the home market are really highly sought after.
