I've been trying my hand at homebrewing lately. The batch I'm waiting on is supposed to taste like Smithwick's...we'll see how it goes.

My favorite cheap beer lately has been High Life Light.

For anyone that lives in San Diego area, or is going to be visiting there.
go to Pizza Port.
3 or 4 of them in different areas of SD county.
they usually have 40 or so beers made on the premises.
you can get a sampler tray of little glasses to get a taste of what you like.

Anybody seen the "Beer Wars" Documentary?

formerly SvD, bots.... member since 2006. Same game different name!

It depends what type of Bourbon Cask Ale you're talking about.

ah darn, i believe it was Winter's Bourbon Cask Ale. its carried by Anheuser. i had it on tap a few times. the handle has a snowman on it. i might have to get a case next go-round.

and damn, somebody went and mentioned Bass. i need me some of that. last time i went shopping it was between that and Newcastle. only enough $ for one.
haha i remember making B&T's at a buddy's house. all you need is a spoon, and voila.

I had this one at the "German Fan House" at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver last week:

I'd like to track some more down, but none of the local shops I've been in have it (so far).

I just had Yuengling Bock Beer, some kind of limited-run seasonal beer. It's miles ahead of the other Yuengling brews. I highly recommend it.

Imported! (Woot!) Samuel Smith’s Organically Produced Lager.

And if you ever find yourself in Belgium, be sure to get at least one Leffe.

Dogfish Mahogany Ale...11% abv, but doesn't even taste like it. awesome. though the price isn't so awesome.... Crying

I homebrewed for awhile, but the results were patchy, so I gave it up. I brewed some good porters and stouts, but anything lighter was iffy.

My favorite everyday beer is Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.

I had some of this at TO last year and dug it!

Hey Jeff you should see if they'll do a sponsor at SG101?

Hey, nothing wrong with PBR.
I enjoy a good boutique beer as well as the next guy. But nothing wrong with a good old fashioned (cheap) American Lager every once in a while too.

I wanted to like PBR and Primo,
but just have a hard time choking them down.

I don't drink much beer, but when I do, I like it to be fairly good one.

Apparently Primo is better than it used to be, wonder what it was like before? Shocked

Anyway, I betcha they'd be more than willing to sponsor, it was really popular and they sold out fast at TO.

Kona would probably also do it too.

rolling rock is pretty rough stuff

While I will still defend the honor of PBR until my last dying breath, I was wondering -- any of you kids tried Sam Adams Utopias?

It's more like a cognac or a sherry, but damn is it amazing. Granted, for $400 a bottle, it sure as hell better be.

welcome back Bill.

Jeff(bigtikidude)

Sorry, BTD, I had to use that same line in order to get the few sips that I had.

My friend is a huge beer nerd, and he found a bottle for around $200 so he got it for himself for Christmas.

It's pretty insane stuff.
