Anyone who has been following the recent MOAM reunion shows, probably has noticed that Victor Vector, and Coco are playing Sweptwings, and Starcrunch has been playing a Red White and Blue 60 Custom, along with his white Mosrite. Ill have to say that I think they sound excellent.

Thanks for posting these, I couldn't get a clear look at them from the youtube videos. I don't own any (yet), but they do look like great guitars. Bob Shade is a good guy from my experiences with him too, I ordered a case and bridge on separate occasions.

I was on the fence about a 60 custom a while back, and ended up buying a Jaguar instead, mainly because the price on the Jag was sub $500 and I already own a 68 mosrite. I exchanged some emails with Bob, and he also struck me as a real straight shooter, he was very informative, and always returned my emails promptly, it is very likely I will purchase a 60 Custom from him somewhere down the line.

Here are some more pics I got from a link off the old Astrolist, which is now been pretty active.

Just making me want a hallmark more...

I wanna play just like him when i grow up...

I was torn between the "Buck Owens" finish and the fireburst sparkle when I bought mine. I went with the fireburst and don't regret it, but still would like the Buck too

Hello Andrethegiant,

Thanks for that link to see those
Hallmarks in action.

Cheers.

I always thought the wings looked a bit too far out there.. but they seem to fit in perfect for MOAM...

P.S. Wow, i just saw the end of the video, i dont think i have ever seen anything like that at a concert...

I like how Coco remembers to turn on his amp but forgets to plug in his bass! Laughing

That bug was reported, and should be fixed with the MoAM? V.2.0.1 update.

I cannot accept credit for the pics, but they are definately good enough to pass along, they really capture MOAM? in great form.

The gear geek in me has just got to ask, anyone care to take a crack at what's on Star Crunch's pedalboard? I think I can make out an MXR Microamp on the board's lower right corner.

I agree, it'd be cool to know what he's got down there (I'm talking about his pedals....)

I think those are really cool as well, I would really love to try out some of the other Hallmarks available. Those sweptwings have also kind of been growing on me lately.

A long gone thread, but I thought I would actual answer Sean's question regarding the elusive Starcrunch pedal board.

I have been in contact with Causey over the past few months, getting advice on guitar tone for our upcoming album. He enlightened me quite a bit on his setup, and I must say that it is quite underwhelming in regard to any tricks to his tone.

First, and foremost, he uses the onboard reverb on his Silverface Vibrolux. There is no outboard unit to be found these days.

His pedalboard consists of the following...

MXR Micro Amp - He says he mostly just drives his amp, but kicks this in for extra gain when needed.

Sonic Research ST-200 Tuner

Volume Pedal

Electro Harmonix Frequency Anylizer

Sitori Sonics Tapeworm - Analog Delay

MXR Carbon Copy - Analog Delay (set to around 7oclock, 1or2oclock, 10oclock

MXR Tremolo

THE KBK ... This is the last known signal. We offer Sanctuary.

I think 99% of his tone and flavor is in his playing. A lesson we can all learn from in these gear-centric times Big Razz

Of course I have been curious to see if he's strayed much from the gear he used back in the day. Looks like he's kept it similar (and simple). Love the sound of that Silverface Vibrolux!

Thanks for posting this! Starcrunch to me is what Jimi Hendrix is to most other guitar players. Viva el Crunch!
