Post surf surf/motor related instrumentals from a Denver area garage band, the Velveteen Loveseat.
Banzai Surf
Banzai Surf (another occasion)
Whiteline Mayhem
Fun organic instrumentals. Usual issues with the sound overdriving the recording devices of the amateur enthusiasts doing the recording!

Banzai Surf Bettter visuals, from Leela European Cafe in Denver (better lit, anyway)

Fun band but yeah the sound in the recordings is too dirty to be enjoyed properly.

Properly recorded stuff at
http://www.myspace.com/thevelveteenloveseat
but "only" their vocals, sadly. The drummer fpr this session was a stand in, Denver videographer Mike Olafson, who stepped in when they lost their first drummer at an awkward moment.
VLS appears on the NDSA 0020 compilation CD Long Live the New Flesh, which was just released. I guess you can get it via the NDSA MyGreaser site and they may now be on Fratbook, too. The VLS cuts are Banzai Surf and Werewolf (the latter a vocal). For the instrumentally inclined, this collection also includes two cuts from Get Three Coffins Ready, two from the Royal Aces, and one from Vibes on Velvet.
VLS tells me that they are working on a CD, which should be out later this year. I believe that now that the video is up they have some real incentive to get out the CD and convince people that they don't actually sound like that. That is, they do sound like that, but the sound hasn't been put through a meatgrinder.

OK: much better sound here, I think. These two songs are instrumentals. There are a couple of vocals of this sound quality up, too.
Secret Agent (An original. Not the usual Secret Asian Man number.)
Pipeline
Truth in advertising: these folks mostly do vocals and the sound they are going for is clearly more garage than surf, but hopefully the quality of the recorded sound is fairly decent here. I think I put Banzai Surf, another instrumental, on their Facebook page, but I forget which it was and I don't think you can link out of Facebook anyway. It might have been a vocal, Motor Vixen, instead.
MV is the title song of a sort of grind house short being made in Denver by local cinematographer and car/music historian Mike Olafson. MV uses local acting talent (including organist Sherrilynn Nelson of VLS) and a sound track from local bands (including VLS). If you want to see Nelson kick Denver rockabilly artist Joe DuRand in the face, this is your indy film. See the link above for a trailer with that scene. I think we have a cult favorite building up here.
For actual good sound, see the VLS MySpace site, which has a video with dubbed studio sound (vocals) as well as the usual recorded audio cuts.

Historical material. Two back to back instrumentals, Banzai Surf and Secret Agent. As I pointed out back in 2010, this is (was) a garage band, not a surf band, and, of course, this is my early video with pretty dirty sound. The visual quality is pretty dirty too, though I have tried to enhance and stabilize it.
