Permalink Tremolo into reverb or reverb into tremolo?

New Topic

I like both but what's most common? Also, on amps with tremolo and reverb onboard like a Vibrolux or a Princeton Reverb does the reverbed signal go into the tremolo or vice versa? Thank you!

I believe on most Fender tube amps with on-board effects the signal chain would look like this: guitar> tremolo> reverb> amp/speaker

On a Fender amp with outboard reverb unit and on-board tremolo it would look like this: guitar> reverb unit> tremolo> amp/speaker

I tend to run the signal chain like this: guitar> tremolo pedal> reverb unit> amp/ speaker

I prefer to run the reverb through tremolo. When run tremolo through reverb, the reverb tends to "wash out" the tremolo effect.

Monkey

Yeah because I've recently got hooked on buzz-saw square wave tremolo which loses its staccato effect with reverb after it.
