Jon and the Nightriders do a little strategic kicking on Earthquake

I don't actually kick the reverb unit, but occassionally I will kick the stand of my suspended reverb unit (see Lava Bill), but with the excess vibration is there a chance of tubes coming loose, the pan springs breaking and/or the electronics from the pan coming loose ? Just wanted to hear the group's thoughts...thanks

You can kick a Boss FRV-1 pedal all day and it won't mind. It won't make any crashing sounds when you kick it however. Smile

I own a TU-2, and stepping on that thing too much loosens the input jack. So I highly suggest not kicking one! Maybe breathing on it is okay. I tighten before i use it each time. I should really replace the part.

I kicked/spanked my tank last night...i always kik it on "Baja" because i love the attention it gets me..."hey, that dork over there is left handed!!".

That's OK, they just released the TU-3. Your TU-2 is obsolete now. Rolling Eyes Very Happy

Hmmm... And I'm trying to tell how it is different, or how it warrants a new model name.

Actually, if i was going to get a new tuner pedal, I'd go with the one that was posted here and I no longer know the name. I remember Dave W being a fan.

Your TU-3 may be obsolete soon, though:

It looks like the display is a bit more intricate and there may be an obscure feature or two added but I'm not racing off to buy one at the moment.

About kicking pedals, a few of the cheapies solder the in/out sockets directly on the circuit board. can make them a little fragile.
Apparently they are not very good if you have a vocalist that goes mental and stomps all over your pedal board! Smile

Any vocalist that "goes mental" and takes it out on my pedalboard will qualify as the lead in Peter Pan 'cause he's going to be flying and will probably have a higher voice for a while to boot. Smile

No, i read that one in a ebay description - one pedal for spares or repair.. man was he pissed off about it too.

I can't say that I'd blame him.

Actually, I've never kicked the tank. Do you know how much I paid for that thing?!

Enjoy every minute

I can't remember if I read about it on this board or somewhere else, but cranking the volume on your amp and touching the cord to a metal part of your guitar will make the FRV1 sound like its been kicked Razz

I've owned my unit since around 2002 & it was used when I got it (2000 model I think). I've kicked it hundreds of times since then, sometimes lightly & sometimes to the point of the unit falling over. The only problem I've ever had with it was in the last 6 months. One of the connections to the pan broke away. Not that big a deal. (BTW Thanks Don!)
If it's a reissue, kick away!
But under no circumstances would I kick someone else's tank, even if they said it was ok.
