I've found other threads about surf guitar book but I can't find anyone about this. Does somebody know about this book? Is it good for starters?

I bought this book a while back and I think its a great book for people just starting off in surf music. I think the best attribute would be the CD that comes with it. You can slow the song down to an easier speed until you get good at it. I consider myself an intermediate player and I was able to get Walk Don't Run and Pipeline down rather easily with this book.

I'm gonna buy it, thanks!

IIRC, the CD also has a backing track version so you can play along with it. I have it, although I haven't really played around with it much. I should dig it out & start learning some of the standards.

I don't have the book, but looking at the cover shot with the songs in the book, I'd say go for it (If you’re into the old surf music).
The books often have the songs interpreted by someone other than the original writers. So while the songs will be there for you to learn, just know that they may be an interpretation that is close but maybe not correct.
Ya gotta start somewhere's dude.

It's worth buying, if only for the CD. I've learned three or four of the songs in this book, and although the tab may not precisely match the originals, I didn't find any that were simply wrong (i.e. nonsensical).

The CD does indeed have backing tracks as well as full versions of every song. You can pause it and slow it down without altering the pitch. Should be useful even when you don't need the book anymore.

When I decided to play surf I got this book and it was a great help. Definitely get it.

That's amazing considering the fact that the song begs to be played in E.

When Surf Guitar is outlawed only outlaws will play Surf Guitar.

I've been playing Pipeline along with The Surge! based on what was in the book. Will probably try Penetration next.

That depends on the CD/band too...

I have 4 versions of Penetration on CD and none sound exactly the same either.

I have the book and the tab in it for Penetration is different than the one here in the Download tabs.
The one in the Book sounds more like the version by The Pyramids off of the "Ultra Surf Presents" CD than the others.

Heads up about Penetration guys.

it was recorded in F#
but the tape was sped up so it sounds like G.
almost anyways.
