What if - for the month of January, members place a vote for the top three tunes on the previous year's mp3 comp. Then announce the top three at the end of the month. Each member would have to send Brian their vote, rather than a form, to keep people from voting multiple times. Just the top three vote getters announced, and nothing mentioned beyond those. Maybe award a t-shirt. Something to shoot for... just a thought.

Too much work for Brian. You can organize it. Granted I suggest more than a top 3.
I'm sure there are poll websites you can find in which you can create something like this.

Over dinner just now, I began to think I will withdraw this suggestion. I am wondering if a big part of the attraction of submitting to the list is creating the music without it being a competition. I will be glad to compile votes if others want to do it. But, I understand if this is not a great idea as well.

I think its a good idea to NOT rate them as well. It isn't a competition. I DO thinks its a good idea to talk about the songs on the comp - point out your favorites, why, etc. Maybe in the Comp thread....

I agree. No one submitted anything to be judged and it is too late to withdraw.
You can rate the songs and make comments on the Downloads page.
