I am a beginner on the guitar. I would love to find a guitar instructor who can also teach surf guitar. I really like surf music, I have been listening to Early Shadows, Lively one ect lately. I am on a budget, so I am not sure how feasible it would be for someone. Help Please

You could also try Eddie Montana at Seal Beach Music (on Main Street).
http://www.sealbeachmusic.com/
Eddie is the leader of our surf guitar CD project that we are working on. So, I know for a fact that he knows at least 20 or so of the classic songs. He has been a fully dedicated professional musician since the '60s. I have been taking lessons from him for about three years. He is a great instructor and a totally cool guy.

Thank you all for your reply's, I e-mailed Eddie through his website. I do check out the you tube and other free lessons out on the internet. I seem to learn better though when working with someone. It's that way with other things in the past anyway.

Hi Galen---we need new players! Come and check me out at the Azteca on Dec. 30th and we'll talk (check the Calendar for details). There's lots of great guitar players around---one of the reasons I like the surf community so much is the generosity of spirit among all the players. We'll try our best to hook you up.

Sounds like you're in good hands Galen. In the meantime, check out Jason Lee on youtube. Some of his lessons are technique oriented and will help you assimilate the Surf "style". There are a couple of Jason Lee's on youtube. You'll know you've got the right one if he has incredible hair.
