New Topic

I know Bob from Beloved Invaders play this and loves it.

Anybody else have one of these or knows about it.
Has reverb tank knobs of left side.

What speaker cabinet would go with this???

Pretty cool amp everything in one rig minus the speakers, from what the description says it sounds like this amp is a proto type.

Interesting. It's very unique in the fact that I don't think I've ever seen just a Dual Pro head before. Also, it looks like a master volume was added which is not typical of the Dual Pro combos.

According to the ad, Brucy Zinky built this amp -If I recall correctly, according to the "Fender Soul of Tone" book, he's the guy that designed it before he worked for Fender, and when he went to work for them, the Fender guys liked it so much, they started to build them.

I'd bet that Bruce Zinky got a Dual Pro faceplate and chassis, and then went to work on building exactly what Pete Anderson wanted - did you see the back panel? All sorts of other controls that a stock Dual Pro doesn't have.

It looks like a cool amp, but I'd bet it has little in common with a stock Dual Professional amp, other than standard layout.

The only difference I see between this amp and a standard DP (besides the head-only configuration) is the back-panel master volume. Everything else looks the same.

The production version of the Dual Pro was a 2x12 combo. The head-only versions you see were converted by/for the owner. I suspect that the ebay one was a combo at one time, as the mid-90's promo shots and video footage I've seen of Pete Anderson backing up Dwight Yokam showed a 2x12 Dual Professional combo.

I have an Eddie Katcher-ized Dual Pro head in my basement that belongs to a friend. Looks exactly as if Fender had built it, but EK did it in his basement.

So your DP had magic markered lettering too? Laughing

I guess Ivan is right - there is only one more control on the back.

So, even if it started as a stock amp, I'd bet it's not stock inside any more. and I doubt it was ever a stock amp. Maybe it's the doubt-er in me.

It looks too home made to me.

Pete Anderson is playing at a Mexican restaurant in Ventura this week, maybe I can ask him about the amp. Albert Lee is playing there on another night...any questions for him?

You could use a Tonemaster Speaker cab or Supersonic 2 X 12 or 4 X 12.
You could also get a matching cab made in other speaker configurations.

Weird....

Give me reverb or give me death!

So... what did Pete say?

I just obtained a Dual Professional. I compaired it to Mac's and it is pretty nice. LOUD!!!. The reverb on mine is a little sketchy so I will take it to Sam G and have it corrected. I would really like to pop in a new baffle board and run it with a JBL-D 130. Anybody try that out? Mac has used his in practice and I always thought it was better sounding than any other amp he has. (and he has a LOT of brown and black face Showmans)....
Jeff,
Outerwave.

I have a dual pro that was a pre production build...it has a number from "Bruce" glued inside the chasis, saying call if you need help...lol, i've never fired the amp up as I got it with no tubes, and no speakers and it left me with no money. I want to the same as Jeff and pop my D130f into it. I heard you should offset the speaker slightly for clearance issues.
