Thanks

The Maxon Analog Delay AD 999 is a very good pedal. I was looking for that vintage tweed plus Echoplex sound for my tweed amp and it does that well. You can dial many other delay effects too. The pedal is somewhat expensive, but could be closer used. Paul —Paul |

It's not delay, but you can get a slap back sound with a tremolo pedal. — |

I'd save up a few more bucks and buy an MXR Carbon Copy. —The artist formerly known as: Synchro When Surf Guitar is outlawed only outlaws will play Surf Guitar. |

I have the MXR Carbon Copy, and couldn't be more happy with it. One of the best delay pedals on the market in my opinion. — |

if all you want is the rockabilly slap echo, get a Danelectro BLT. You can probably get one for 20 bucks or less —Shawn Martin |

Hello Topsail,
That little dano pedal is pretty darn good little pedal. Cheers. |

I've been pretty happy with my Danelectro Reel Echo. I believe you can grab one for around $100 if you look around. Ebay comes close. One downside is its large footprint. (its a pretty big pedal) On the upside, it has a few cool features that the smaller (and more affordable) BLT doesn't. The case and jacks are metal, by the way, if plastic is unacceptable to you. I'd say to go with the BLT for a simple slapback, but to look at the Reel Echo and MXR Carbon Copy if you want a little more. It's true that the Carbon Copy is a great pedal. I was checking them out along with the Dano when I was shopping for a Delay pedal. |

Or you can go with the new Behringer Vintage Time Machine. It's a clone of the Memory Man and a very convincing one. I had a Memory Man a few years ago and didn't have the want/need for it at the time and sold it. I started looking at them again and ran across the Behringer a few weeks ago. It has a metal housing, does the delays, echos, vibrato, chorus, and was 70 meazly bucks. —Shawn Martin |

Electro H #1 echo is a killer ped. Used for $60ish Ibanez soundtank DL5 is also a great delay, prob in the $20-$30 range Those are my favorite 2 delay/echo peds thats not an echoplex. I dont dig the reel echo, I thought I would. Not so much. —Give me reverb or give me death! |

I know what you mean but I wouldn't call it slapback... it kind works on some parts. —http://www.myspace.com/thepashuns Youth and enthusiasm are no match for age and treachery. |

I just heard a DM-2 for the first time this week, Vintage black MIJ KILLER PED! —Give me reverb or give me death! |

I've got one of these, it blows away most of the other pedals I've ever heard for analog delay. There is a really nice Maxon out there, which is a clone of the DM-2 that I'm fond of. |

Here's a +1 for the MXR Carbon Copy. Covers everything from spacey echo to rockabilly slap back, and does a pretty good job at all of it. |

Thanks for all the input. I had a friend recommend the MXR Carbon Copy as well. I'll see what kind of deal I can find online? |

Also check out the BBE Two Timer. It's like having two Carbon Copies for the same price. Paul |
