Great stuff. I can hear the surf lapping at the foot of Lookout Mountain.

I betcha that most of the surfing you're doing right now is on those long, skinny surf boards that you strap onto each foot just before you climb on the chair lift.

I lived there when they had that huge snowstorm on Christmas eve 1982. For about a week the roads were basically ruts in the snow. I was driving (if you could call it that) west on Evans and just before Federal Blvd I went past a bar with a Harley in the parking lot. The guy must have been hard-core.

...the snow was up to the patio roofs and kitchen windows at my place. That was definitely not a very "surf" time for Denver!

I remember the night before driving home and they'd been predicting a big storm. I was heading northbound on S Federal Blvd at about 10 PM and I saw a single snowflake wafting down and I thought that this storm was going to be a big nothing. The next morning I woke up thinking that there might be an inch or two until I went outside and got the shock of my life. IIRC that snow stayed on the ground until early April.

Certainly not anything you have to worry about in Tucson!

True, but they'll close the roads around here at the drop of a hat. I've seen them shut down the Interstate for 1" of snow. They are helpless against its power.
