Norm dug up (get it?) one of Bobby Boris Pickett's attempts at cashing in, "Monster Swim," for this week's RFB! It's pretty funny how he sings "the mash is a drag" & how the swim is "bigger than the mash!" I never heard it before but I'm glad Norm brought it around!

Monster Mash features non other than The Ventures' own Mel Taylor on the drums. He was "the other" go-to studio guy in the 60's.

I actually kinda dug that the Happy Beach Boys were doing a spooky song.
but what's funny is the back ground music is really heavy Motown sounding.
I winder if Mike really liked doing that like Brian said, or was he being sarcastic, and Mike was just going along with it.

I think they were just having fun. It's included on the Beach Boys live LP which also has a cool pic of Mike Love wearing a Frankenstein mask! They do change the chords so it sounds more Phil Specter-like, which I think is awesome too.
