Hello group, Just a heads up to those that have a membership in my group I will be closing shop on New Years Day, and thank you for those there for the cool 4 years
No I was not put up to it! I just believe that we only need one central place for surf, garage etc.. and that's here @ surfguitar101 So I will make it an example to close my group and urge those to follow in my lead to do the same, this is our city, town, country surfguitar101 yeah!!! home
Also to those that have a yahoo surf group or non yahoo surf group of some kind or other surf forum to do the same if you wish, I dont want to offend anyone I know I have no place to tell those to close thier groups but wouldn't it be nice to have 1 central place? what you would be posting there you can post here, reach, share, learn, download, discuss and adevertize to the right folks in one big place like surfguitar101

Very good call! I think having all surf music people at just one place really would benefit the genre.

Kyle,
wow I remember joining your group about 2 years ago or so.
I am on about 18 yahoo groups now, and I wish that we could lure more people over here. Most of the yahoo groups don't have much activity.
so I recently set them to send a e-mail instead of me going to them to check them. But I agree, its silly to be so divided.

When I first saw this thread, I thought it was about this Surf Ballroom, you know, the one in my home state where the music died at...
As a biased observer, I just wanted to make it clear that my goals in life do not include "crushing the competition"...the more surf related forums/groups out there the better...IMHO. The yahoo groups still offer email based messages, and some people like that. Some people still can't seem to figure out web-based forums. I just enjoy playing with web technology and applying it to my surf music fixation.
In any event, I'm glad people like this site.
