Has anyone here recorded at Pete's studio? I'm curious about it and there's practically no info available on the web.

I see on the back of the Concussions CD's he produced their CD's.

The Neanderthals in Space was done there. I really like the sound of that recording. It's my fave Neanderthals production.

Joao Erbetta recorded there.
I'm going out to see him tonight. If I get a chance, I'll ask him to post about his experience.

Is it a "real" studio that people can book or just Pete's, well, "fun room"?

Eddie Angel recorded his Link Wray tribute there as I recall from the liner notes.

I didn't know he opened a studio with the money he made from Rocky Horror.

Pete's studio is the real deal, not a couple of mics in the living room. I'm not sure how open to the public it is though, but he has had a lot of different bands in there as of late.

As long as I've known Pete, he's owned a recording studio. In fact, we met him in his studio, a place called "Willie's Garage" probably back in about '81. He joined the Halibuts not long after that.

Yep! I think he recorded that 'I do the rock' song there. Laughing

Jeff,
I have a feeling that you would like us all to carry around plate reverbs along with the tanks.

Hey guys, yes, I recorded my "The L.A Sessions" with Pete. It was fantastic. Easy ( we recorded and mixed in two and a half days ) and fun. The gear is just right. The guitars, amps, mics, preamps and comps, plate and mixing board. All good. Pete is pretty busy so I don't think he does the regular "book for next week" deal every day. He's a really nice guy.
There's a couple of videos from my session, if you wanna check out the space and some of the gear:

Sorry, I don't know how to put the videos working here.

I remember I asked Deke Dickerson for "that drum sound" and he recomended Pete to me at that time. Right on.

"Mr. PETE" is very serious...and very scientific...and makes the whole experience of recording...a complete joy!
