Permalink tremolo lock?

New Topic

ive seen that in the new reissue jazzmasters/jaguars they have a such thing called "tremolo lock" is this something that stops the arm from swinging all about and keep it in a place where it can be easily reached? or is it something in all jazz/jag trems that im not aware of it being called so?

This link describes it pretty well.

Well, that page contains instructions on how to set up the JM trem which is a little confusing, but the lock itself is pretty simple. It's really just a block that keeps the trem from going sharp...kind of like setting up a strat trem to lay flat on the body. The beauty in it is that you can put a good amount of spring tension on it so that the trem always comes back to the same spot...and all the other strings won't go sharp when you break a string. I'd use that sucker if I had a JM. Laughing
