You can get the Vintage Ventures LP's on ebay at reasonable prices. Dick Dale is a Little more scarce and you'll pay more for them but worth every penny. Do a search under surf guitar and you'll get some interesting results. Check out the ThunderHeads at : www.myspace.com/thethunderheads

Al Casey´s "Surfing hootenanny"
is a must hear!

That has been the great thing about the podcasts for me. I've found out about some bands (and expanded my record collection as a result).

Be at one with the universe. If you can't do that, at least be at one with your guitar.

Do a myspace search on bands. Start with one band that you like. Then click on some of the bands on their friends list and take it from there. A little exploration will turn up some great stuff.

Also, hit various surf-related record label sites like Double Crown, Deep Eddy, etc.

I really like The Mermen (which may be controversial I dont know), but the California Health and Happiness Tour and Food For Other Fish are some of the best for me. Not traditional, but reminds me of Surfing and the Ocean.

The Vara-Tones Jetty cd, the Beloved Invaders cd (local band to me), and The Birth Of Surf various artists will get you a great start. Like others have said there are a lot of new bands you can taste test on compilation cds from iTunes, CD Baby, or Amazon.

Never surrender in finding a surfcaster

don't forget the newly released Wadadli Rider - Made in Antigua.
just received mine yesterday and have listened to it all morning on a loop.
Great stuff. Excellent work Lorenzo and Nicoletta!! :0)
Surf's up in Antigua!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll throw in the Coconut Wired podcast as well. Quite a few good bands in there that aren't on the SG101 'casts.

The Luau Cinders

I've been thinking about this, and what I recommend is that you try to listen to all of them and then report back if you find any good ones. Just start anywhere. Very Happy
