Dunlop Jazz II in black. Everything else has always felt clumsy.
Although I could SWEAR they changed the plastic on this new batch.
I also like the Golden Gate "celluloid" thumb picks.

V Picks, they're awesome! My personal favorites are the Large Pointed Night Glow; they're easy to hold onto, sound great, and you can see them on a dark stage. Kane |

I used to use the thinner Delrin, but this year I got twice as thick and now play a Dunlop Delrin 1.14 mm or 1.5 mm. Gives a fat sound, really slick, durable, cheap and stays in my fingers. I have worked my way up to D'Addario pure nickel blues/jazz rock set of 12's on my Jazzmaster. —Owner of Gunbarrel Custom Guitars! |

All Parts Mediums with the round end out. I don't like the pointy end for Surf Music, it's easier for me to double pick with the fat end. www.myspace.com/thethunderheads |

Had a quick look through the threads, i don't think "The Light Pick" has been mentioned before? Here's a couple of video demos: http://sclw.net/lightpicks/videos.php |

Now that I have a little more experience, I've been trying some other picks. Found some of the medium Dunlop Gels, and could hear a difference over the Fender pearloids. Tried a heavy & really like it. —Will "You're done, once you're a surfer you're done. You're in. It's like the mob or something. You're not getting out." - Kelly Slater |

Just tried making a pick out of a discarded CD (as described in http://www.instructables.com/id/Transparent-Guitar-Pick/ ). Tip: I found it easier to work with the CD when it was cut in half. |

I have SO many of these picks for some reason, but found a green tortex among them today and really liked the slightly heavier feel. i felt like i had more control over my attack (esp for tremolo) |

I started using these almost a year ago and they quickly became my favorite - Then I spotted these "sharps" on Ebay - Same overall shape just pointier - might take a little getting used to, but so far I think I'm going to stick with 'em. — |

All I use are the Dunlop Jazz 3 picks....tried one out 4 or 5 yrs ago and fell in love...they are great for tremolo picking. Funny though, I've never heard of anyone that uses them until this forum....... — |

Everything evolves. Somebody gave me this pick for Christmas, 2 mm thick, stiff and transparent, with a New Brunswick provincial flag in in. I thought of it as some kind of souvenir novelty, but I tried playing with it and liked it. I went to my local guy for something like it, and got a bunch of Jim Dunlop purple "Big Stubby" picks. 2 mm, (Lexan?) I'm not a complete idiot. Some parts are missing. |

This thread crack me up! 18 pages of posts about picks. I'm always changing and trying different picks and found that I prefer different picks for different things - thinner and softer for acoustic, heavy thick for lead on electric guitar and thumb pick to practice fingerpicking. When I start playing with dr. frankenstein sometimes during rehearshals and shows I felt quite unconfortable with the pick on my fingers and I used to let it fall a lot. To avoid this I start having always one pick with me all the time that I use to rotate with my fingers just get used to it. After that became much more simplier to move it when I felt less confortable while playing. Recently I noticed that Danny from the Caesars (UK: Wild Records) strumm loads with is thumb pick and he can even play double picking like that. Unusual, but he's not the only one as I've seen Omar Romero playing rhythm acoustic guitar with thumb pick as well - might be one rockabilly thing, lol. Just to conclude, try different picks and push your boundaries! |

Been into Dunlop Gators for a while. Just trying these Jim Dunlop Blackline Tiki Taboo .60mm. They are slightly stiffer and more positive than the Gators even at around the same thickness. I like 'em. Last edited: Jul 20, 2010 04:37:26 |

pics?? dunlop tiki picks or fender mediums or dunlop 1mm. nylon-the black ones. the tikis look cool and sound ok, the fender mediums are for when i feel lazy and the 1mm. are the real thing for me. —Enjoying the surf, sun and sand!! |
