I love the output of Mosrite pu's coupled with the great Vibramute Trem. Plus the thing seemd to melt into my body when standing up playing a gig. Love the Jazzmaster also for it's comfort and Trem. I like the three way toggle switch way better than the individual switches on a Jaguar. Someday I may reduce down to just that, possibly with an identical backup. My main guitar these days is an esquire with a B5 bigsby. But not that tone sucking jazzmaster style bridge. Just straight from the bigsby to the saddles on the 3 barrel ashtray (a little grinding of the back of the ashtray for string clearance). Kicks much ass and and gives me beaucoup bite in the tone department. number 2 is my jag. But before the esquire it was Jazzy first then Jag. Haven't had the jazzy out of its case in a month Top

I know what you're thinking, but it boosts the upper mids, not the ear bleeding freqs The major portion of the tone from a Mosrite comes from the shorter 24.75" scale. To get your Tele to sound even closer to the Mosrite, try dropping the tuning one half step and then capo'ing the strings at the first fret to bring it back to standard pitch. — "Hello Girls!" Top

dp Joined: Feb 26, 2006 Posts: 3546 mojave desert, california	Posted on Aug 06 2009 09:24 PM I heard the Tomorrowmen on August 1st at the SG101Convention...and I must say, I was mightilly inpressed with the sound of a Bigsby equipped Telecaster, it was awesomely surf-a-sonic! nonetheless; to me the ultimate surftones seem to come from the Jazzmaster...even though Dick Dale, Paul Johnson, and Ivan P would say otherwise. Thunderhead Joined: Apr 11, 2009 Posts: 201	Posted on Aug 06 2009 09:40 PM I love that White Jazzmaster I put the stock bridge back on my AVRI Jazzmaster and it sounds so much better. I had Japanese Jazzmasters that had the rattle and buzz problems. I used buzzstops and then Mustang bridges to fix them. When I got the USA a few years ago I put a Mustang bridge on before I gave it a chance with the stock bridge, man what a mistake I've had the stock bridge back on a week and have played one gig and hours of rehearsing with no rattles, buzz or any problems The stock bridge sounds so much better than the import Mustang bridge and no choking out when I bend strings at the 12th fret up. I've been gassin' for one for awhile now, and the TomorrowMen's performance at the SG 101 convention just about sealed the deal. Sounded awesome. A Road Worn Tele w/ a B-5 added might be a good way to go. That being said, I've come to consider the Jazzmaster the best all-around surf guitar. I keep telling myself 1 Jazzmaster and 1 Gretsch is all I really need. Top

But, I noticed at the Surf Convention show at The Starting Gate...the only Jags I think I saw all day was Carol and Dave W....Did I miss anybody? Seems like the Strats and the Jazzy's...even Mosrites, far outnumbered the Jags. Top

I was playing my brother's Oly White Jag AVRI during the Astronauts tribute in The Surge's set. I'm actually more of a Jazzmaster guy...my only Jag is the '64 that my dad bought me when I was in high school which I obviously didn't want to take on a cross-country airplane trip. The pickup switching on a Jag sucks, IMO.
